Who We Are

WAGEP is dedicated to empowering communities, particularly women and marginalized groups, through advocacy, education, and capacity-building initiatives. At WAGEP, we focus on a range of issues including women's rights, environmental sustainability, workforce equity, and adolescent empowerment. Whether through our training programs, advocacy efforts, or community-based projects, we strive to create lasting positive change.

Our Humble Beginning

WAGEP International began as a grassroots initiative, born out of the passion and dedication of a small group of advocates committed to addressing the inequalities faced by women and marginalized communities. Initially, the organization started with a simple mission: to provide support and create opportunities for women in underserved areas, particularly in African communities.

In its early stages, WAGEP focused on small-scale workshops and outreach programs, offering training on basic skills such as financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership. With limited resources, the organization relied heavily on community volunteers and local partnerships to carry out its work.

Despite these humble beginnings, WAGEP quickly gained momentum due to the tangible impact it was making in the lives of women and girls. As word spread, the organization's scope expanded, and it began to take on larger initiatives, including gender advocacy, human rights education, and youth development programs.

Today, WAGEP International has grown into a respected and influential organization, leading efforts in gender equity, community empowerment, and social justice across multiple regions. However, the spirit of its humble beginnings—grounded in community collaboration, resilience, and a shared vision for equality—continues to guide its mission and work.
